The popular race is a firm favourite in the Welsh running calendar, boasting one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK. Over 70% of all finishers have claimed a PB on a route that offers iconic landmarks, like the city’s Transporter Bridge and the stunning scenery of the Gwent Levels – with its coastal wildlife and picturesque medieval villages.

New for 2024 – the event has been expanded into an exciting festival of running with marathon, half marathon, 10K and junior race options.

The fast and fun supporting 10K race, which attracts some of the UK’s top athletes, gives runners of all abilities the opportunity to get involved in the festival of running, without committing to the challenging 26.2-mile distance.

Races start and finish on the vibrant riverfront in the heart of the regenerated city-centre, where runners can expect electric atmosphere and a high-level of event organisation along with a warm Welsh welcome.

The Ogi Porthcawl 10K is an exciting addition to the town known for its surf, sports and coastal walks.

A summertime hotspot for both locals and visitors – Porthcawl is renowned for shining under the sun.

The race takes in a number of landmarks and stunning seaside spots including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the picturesque town centre, historic Grand Pavillion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse.

It delivers an exciting atmosphere, sea side views and even a red arrow fly past!

Sun, sea, and sand provide the backdrop to the ABP Barry Island 10K – which brings a summertime festival of running to the popular seaside resort with a 10K race and family fun run. A firm favourite with runners – renowned for it’s varied and scenic route, unbeatable crowd support and feel-good atmosphere.

The 10K race takes place on fully closed roads with rewarding route showcasing all of the town’s most scenic seaside spots and recognisable landmarks – including Whitmore Bay, the Knap, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay.

The CDF 10K was established by Welsh charity Kidney Wales in 1985.

In 2023, Run 4 Wales (R4W), Wales’ leading mass participation events company added the historic Cardiff 10K to its portfolio of world-class events. The revival of this iconic event gives thousands of runners the opportunity to take to the streets of the Welsh capital every autumn.
